Broward, FL
Best Buddies Broward thanks Audi Coral Springs as well as The Law Firm of Dell and Schaefer for their partnership and generous support of the 2010 Audi quattro Cup Golf tournament held on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at the Parkland Golf and Country Club in Parkland, FL. The Audi quattro Cup is the world’s largest amateur golf tournament as well as an important annual fundraising event for Best Buddies offices across the state.
The 2010 tournament marked the first year of Broward’s partnership with newly opened Audi Coral Springs, who graciously covered 100% of the cost of hosting the tournament. The Law Firm of Dell and Schaefer has supported the local quattro Cup the last three years and has helped to build a great following for this outstanding event. This year’s tournament welcomed 60 golfers and raised $12,000 for Best Buddies Broward programs. This event would not have been such a success without the months of planning and coordination provided by Audi Coral Springs and Dell and Schaefer’s partners and staff.
We once again thank Audi Coral Springs for sponsoring the 2010 Audi quattro Cup Golf Tournament and look forward to their continued support of Best Buddies’ mission in the future. |

When Tracie Scott moved to Jacksonville about three years ago, she happened to see a piece on the news about Best Buddies. Due to her busy traveling schedule as a Product Training Manager at Meridian Knowledge Solutions, she knew it would be hard to make the commitment to a match with the Citizens Program. It wasn’t until her friend, Kimberly Patrick, asked her to join her team for Best Buddies Day that Tracie was introduced to the other volunteer opportunities available with the organization...

Employee Spotlight
Sarah Combs, a Colorado native, started working for Best Buddies after moving with her husband, Will, to Tampa four years ago. With her background in event planning, a natural ability to connect with people and laser sharp focus, Sarah has been a tremendous asset to Best Buddies. Sarah Combs has made it her mission to make Best Buddies well known in the Tampa Bay community. With the implementation of public service announcements on a cable network, billboards featuring Best Buddies advertisements, recognition from the South Tampa Chamber of Commerce and special events that everyone keeps talking about, you could say Sarah is more than on her way to making this happen.

Best Buddies Florida Invites you to Join the Circle of Friends Volunteer Corps. |
|
Best Buddies Florida has always greatly benefitted from our dedicated group of volunteers in each of our five office locations. Without the assistance from volunteers, we would not be able to carry out our most important fundraisers, special events, and activities. We truly value the time and commitment of our volunteers, and have decided to create a Circle of Friends Volunteer Corps in order to streamline these efforts.
Each of our five office locations is constantly searching for volunteers to assist with planning special events, programmatic activities, solicitation of support and donations, and most importantly- just lending a hand when we need it most! Beginning in the Fall of 2011, we will be hosting Friendship Walks across the state of Florida, and we will need volunteers to be Team Captains, as well as assist with recruitment of these walk teams.
Helping Best Buddies Florida prosper and grow takes the involvement of a whole community! Some other ways for community members to get involved are joining a committee, sponsoring an event, assisting in our offices, joining a local Advisory Board, and even just spreading the word about our fundraisers!
If you are interested in joining the Circle of Friends Volunteer Corps in any of our five office locations, please contact Tiffany DePanicis, Development Coordinator for Best Buddies Florida, at tiffanydepanicis@bestbuddies.org or (904) 296-0510. You will be asked to fill out a volunteer profile so that we can determine what your interests are, the hours and dates you are available to assist, and how you can get started! The information will be passed to our area supervisors, and you will be contacted about upcoming opportunities.
